Valerie, I always love reading you because you cut to the chase and winnow out the BS.

There is no such thing as "virtual" breastfeeding because babies and their mothers live in an embodied world that only operates "in real life". There is no such thing as an iBaby (yet).

And when even groups like LLLUSA tell "parents" that exclusive breastfeeding is too hard for modern mothers and have discussions on FB groups like LLL Leaders that joke about breaching the WHO Code, they have moved from breastfeeding support into formula advocacy. https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/la-leche-league-eliminates-mothers

Lucy, I am not on Facebook, but what you are reporting speaks to me about one of the major problems of the Virtual. There is a problem of verifying who you are having a Virtual conversation with. Is the person really who they say they are. Is the person really an LLL leader or even a real person, a bot? There are enormous financial motives (profits) to control the narrative regarding exclusive breastfeeding and early initiation of breastfeeding (within the first hour). Why is the data in the USA showing a steady rise of c-sections, with some women thinking that this surgical procedure is just an alternative way to give birth? Why do women think exclusive breastfeeding is impossible? Who benefits financially when women are made to believe that their bodies don’t work? Thank you for your comment, I liked your comment on breastfeeding being real-life!
